Son of the Redcliffe Flyover

On to more positive matters, a while back I wrote about the old Redcliffe Flyover, removed from our city in June 2008June 1998. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done. (Although a recent letter to the Evening Post suggests it was a hair-raising experience for double-decker bus passengers)

But I'd never realised that the flyover was part of a matching pair. A chance link from a Birmingham History web forum reveals that Gardiners Ltd.(possibly now Gardiner & Theobold) also built a second structure. The Camp Hill Flyover was erected in Birmingham, and is long gone, but here's a video from Google in which (toward the end) you'll be able to get a driver's eye view of trip over the Birmingham structure.
